But in two starts, Johnson has experienced a history that he had no intention of experiencing.

In his first game, he gave up a home run to a pitcher (Milwaukee's Yovani Gallardo) for the first time in his career.

In his second game, on Monday, he suffered his first career loss at Dodger Stadium. He entered with a 7-0 record at 2.04 ERA at Chavez Ravine, but it was altogether different for the 45-year-old in an 11-1 loss to the Dodgers.

"My last two starts, a lot of things have happened that I've never done before," the Big Unit said.

Johnson gave up six runs in the fourth inning Monday and was pulled before it was over, in all giving up seven runs and eight hits. In two starts, he has given up 11 runs -- four homers -- in 7 2/3 innings.

So far, the $8 million investment isn't paying off.

The offense? That's another depressing story.

The Giants failed to draw a walk for the third straight game, the first time that has happened since June 1976. The last Giants walk was issued to Fred Lewis in the eighth inning Friday.

DODGERS 11, GIANTS 1: Orlando Hudson hit for the cycle, roping a triple off Brandon Medders to secure it. His single, double and homer were off Randy Johnson. It was the first cycle by a Dodger since Wes Parker's in 1970, and the first in a regulation nine-inning game since Gil Hodges' in 1947.
