San Francisco Giants Inside Pitch 2009-04-15

San Francisco Giants Inside Pitch 2009-04-15
The good news is, the Giants didn't play Tuesday, so they didn't lose.

The bad news is, they're still stuck in Southern California.

Four games into their weeklong journey south, the Giants are 0-3 in San Diego, 0-1 in Los Angeles. The latest was the worst, an 11-1 loss at Dodger Stadium on Monday.

Two more games remain against the Dodgers, and Matt Cain and Barry Zito are the Giants' two starters. Cain is the only starter with a victory so far; in fact, he's the only starter who pitched well enough to win.

He's 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA. Randy Johnson is 0-2 with an 11.42 ERA. Tim Lincecum is 0-1, 7.56; Barry Zito is 0-1, 9.00; and Jonathan Sanchez is 0-1, 9.64.

This was supposed to be the deepest rotation in the NL West, if not the league. It still might prove to be, but it's not looking that way so far.

For now, the rotation is 1-5 with a 7.71 ERA.
