--LHP Randy Johnson struck out his 4,800th career batter, James Loney, in the third inning. Johnson had five strikeouts in the game but lasted only 3 2/3 innings and gave up seven runs and eight hits. The only pitcher with more K's is Nolan Ryan with 5,714. Roger Clemens is third at 4,672.
--2B Emmanuel Burriss struck out twice in two at-bats and is hitting .100, but he's not the only Giants infielder struggling at the plate. Consider SS Edgar Renteria is hitting .160, 3B Pablo Sandoval .192 and 1B Travis Ishikawa .228. The Giants entered the season satisfied that they upgraded over the season-opening infield from last year: 1B Rich Aurilia, 2B Ray Durham, SS Brian Bocock and 3B Jose Castillo.
