San Francisco Giants Notes, Quotes 2008-05-30
--CF Aaron Rowand robbed Stephen Drew of extra bases and had two hits to raise his average to a team-leading .341. Rowand doubled and scored on an Omar Vizquel single in the fourth inning. But in the ninth, he was drilled by a pitch on his left hand. As a precaution, he may have X-rays before Friday's series opener against San Diego.

--INF Rich Aurilia was hospitalized with a kidney stone and missed Thursday's series finale in Phoenix. Aurilia was going to play first base against LHP Randy Johnson -- Aurilia is a .327 career hitter off the Big Unit. Instead, he was in the process of passing the stone, and John Bowker played first base.

--LF Daniel Ortmeier struck out three times, one-third of LHP Randy Johnson's nine strikeout victims. The final one came in the seventh inning and was the 4,672nd of Johnson's career, tying Roger Clemens for second all-time.

--RHP Brian Wilson threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his 16th save, which leads the NL. He has just two blown save opportunities.

--C Bengie Molina had a rare hitless game, going 0-for-3 to snap his 10-game hitting streak. He's still batting .367 for the month.

BY THE NUMBERS: 15 -- Doubles for Bengie Molina, through May 25. He had 19 last year. His career high is 24 in 2003.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I try to work in the process. Results just happen as they may," -- LHP Barry Zito, after beating the Marlins (one run, 6 1/3 innings) for his first victory of the year. He started 0-8.
