--RHP Brian Wilson responded to Dodgers 3B Casey Blake, who homered off Wilson in the 12th inning Sunday and after the inning mocked the closer's crossed-arm gesture. Wilson crosses his arms after saves to acknowledge his faith and late father. "I have a pretty good memory," said Wilson when told the Giants and Dodgers don't play again until August. Asked if this could spark the Giants-Dodgers rivalry, Wilson said, "It could be a catalyst if you want to look at it that way. There's always something to fuel the fire. You're always looking for some excuse to get riled up."
--LHP Randy Johnson (6-foot-10) vs. Nationals RHP Daniel Cabrera (6-foot-9) was the tallest pitching matchup in big-league history. That's 163 total inches. The previous high for height was 162 inches -- Cabrera vs. RHP Mark Hendrickson on Sept. 1, 2004. --RHP Tim Lincecum, who has never lost to the Dodgers, got a no-decision after giving up four runs (three earned) in six innings. He struck out eight batters and walked one. Lincecum had won three straight starts, including a 9-4 decision over the Dodgers on April 29.
--CF Aaron Rowand, whose defense with the Giants hasn't mirrored his Gold Glove work in Philly, made a diving catch in right-center to rob LF Juan Pierre in the ninth Sunday. If the ball had gotten by him, 3B Casey Blake would have scored from first base with the winning run. Rowand had shaded Pierre to left-center.
