--RHP Merkin Veldez has the lowest ERA among Giants relievers at 1.26. Next is RHP Vinnie Chulk at 1.93. RHP Tyler Walker isn't far behind at 2.25. LHP Jack Taschner's ERA is 5.40, though he has been mostly solid; he gave up half of his six runs in one inning against the Reds last week.
--C Bengie Molina was out of the lineup three times in five games with a quadriceps strain. The Giants hope to keep him away from the disabled list because the top two catchers at Class AAA Fresno, Eliezer Alfonzo (drug suspension) and Guillermo Rodriguez (injury), are shelved.
