--RHP Tim Lincecum has never lost a game as a Giant in May. He was called up to the majors in May 2007 and is 6-0 with a 3.05 ERA in 11 starts in the month. His sixth win came Tuesday when he beat the Cubs 6-2, giving up two runs and four hits in seven innings.
--RHP Matt Cain is 6-5 against Colorado, where he'll make his next start Thursday. The six wins are his most against any team. He allowed two or fewer runs in 10 of 14 starts against the Rockies, working at least six innings nine times. This year, he's 2-1 with a 3.09 ERA, and the Giants are 2-3 in his five starts. --RHP Osiris Matos was victimized by the longest at-bat of the night Wednesday. 1B Todd Helton saw 14 pitches in the eighth inning, drilling No. 14 over the wall in right field for a homer. Matos relieved LHP Randy Johnson and worked 1 1/3 innings, his ERA rising to 2.70. Helton had three hits.

3B Pablo Sandoval (groin) didn't start May 5, but he appeared as a pinch hitter. He returned to the lineup May 6.
OF Andres Torres (strained left hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list April 28.
RHP Joe Martinez (concussion, hairline fractures in skull) went on the 15-day disabled list April 10. He is unlikely to return before late May.
RHP Sergio Romo (sprained right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. He won't be able to pitch before mid-May.
LHP Noah Lowry (left forearm surgery in March 2008, left elbow surgery in September 2008) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. In mid-April, manager Bruce Bochy said he hoped Lowry would able to return at some point this season.
