--RHP Osiris Matos was optioned to Class AAA Fresno, and the Giants recalled LHP Pat Misch. Matos pitched Monday and gave up a three-run homer in the ninth to Washington 3B Ryan Zimmerman. He had a 9.00 ERA in five appearances for San Francisco. Misch, who has pitched for the Giants in parts of the past three seasons, takes his place after producing a 2.13 ERA in 11 outings (22 innings) for Fresno.
--LF Fred Lewis was shelved Tuesday with a sore left toe. He was hurt pursuing a foul ball in Monday's game. He's hitting .214 in his last 70 at-bats. --RHP Matt Cain limited the Nationals to one run in six innings Tuesday, giving up a three-run homer to 1B Nick Johnson in the seventh inning. RHP Bobby Howry replaced Cain and coughed up the lead.

LF Fred Lewis (sore left toe) didn't play May 12.
OF Andres Torres (strained left hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list April 28.
RHP Joe Martinez (concussion, hairline fractures in skull) went on the 15-day disabled list April 10. He is unlikely to return before late May.
RHP Sergio Romo (sprained right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. He was pitching in extended spring training in early May, and he might begin a rehab assignment in mid-May.
LHP Noah Lowry (left forearm surgery in March 2008, left elbow surgery in September 2008) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. In mid-April, manager Bruce Bochy said he hoped Lowry would able to return at some point this season.
