A Salute to Our Troops is an annual program presented by Microsoft Corporation and the USO of Metropolitan Washington DC that recognizes the many faces of courage and inspiration that serve in the U.S. Military. This year, Microsoft and the USO hosted its 4th annual program where more than 100 Microsoft volunteers joined forces with volunteers from the USO to stuff 5,000 Backpacks with school supplies for children of DC based military families going back to school in August.
Immediately following, 200 wounded warriors, military healthcare providers and military families joined Microsoft and the USO for a BBQ reception. Reception attendees were also invited to enjoy a MLB Game between the Washington Nationals and the San Francisco Giants.
